GameSetChat — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information GameSetChat ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. GameSetChat is operated by Third Act Tech AB ("Third Act"), Malmskillnadsgatan 36, 111 57 Stockholm, Sweden.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to everyone who uses GameSetChat, whether you join as a guest (an anonymous account with an auto-generated nickname) or create an account with an email address.

GameSetChat is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area / UK, where applicable). Do not use the app if you are younger than this minimum age.

2. Information we collect

We keep data collection to what the app needs to work. We collect:

Information you provide - Nickname — the display name you choose (or a randomly generated one for guests). - Email address — only if you create an account (not for guests). - Password — stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider; we never see your plain-text password. - Messages and other content — the chat messages you send, and any reports or blocks you create.

Information created as you use the app - Moderation records — if your content is reported or removed, or you are timed out for breaking the rules, we keep a record tied to your account so we can enforce our guidelines. - Presence — while you are in a match room we briefly note that you are active, to show the live participant count. This is not stored long-term. - Technical data — your IP address and basic connection information are processed when your device talks to our servers, as is normal for any online service.

What we do NOT collect - We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or health data. - We do not use advertising identifiers, run ads, or track you across other apps or websites. - We do not use third-party analytics or marketing SDKs.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to: - create your guest or registered identity and show your nickname in chat; - deliver messages in real time and let you read match chat rooms; - keep chat safe — automatically screen messages for harmful content, enforce rate limits, and act on reports, blocks, and timeouts; - prevent abuse, spam, and violations of our Terms; - operate, secure, and improve the service; - comply with legal obligations.

We rely on the following legal bases (where GDPR applies): performance of our contract with you (providing the chat service), our legitimate interests (safety, security, abuse prevention), your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Content moderation and AI

To keep the community safe, the text of messages is automatically screened. This is done with a combination of in-house rules and a third-party content- moderation service (OpenAI's Moderation API). Message text may be sent to that service to detect hate, harassment, threats, sexual, or violent content. We do not send your email or other account details for moderation — only the message text. See "Third parties" below.

5. Third parties we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers ("processors") that help us run the app, under contracts that limit their use of it:

Sending message text to OpenAI for moderation may involve transferring data to the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.

Match fixtures and scores shown in the app come from football-data.org. We only receive data from them — no personal information about you is sent.

6. How long we keep data

  • Messages are tied to temporary match chat rooms, which open shortly before a match and close after it ends. We retain message records and moderation logs for a limited period for safety and abuse-prevention purposes.
  • Account data (nickname, email) is kept until you delete your account.
  • Guest sessions persist until you sign out or delete the app's data.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Delete your account — at any time, in the app: open the account menu → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, nickname, and messages.
  • Block users — hide messages from anyone you don't want to see.
  • Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at robot@thirdact.se to exercise these rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
  • You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security on our database, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.

9. Children

GameSetChat is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under the minimum age stated in Section 1. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app.
